New Leader for Heavensong (Mt. Olive’s praise team)

We are excited to welcome a talented and energetic praise leader, Kara Lowe to our Heavensong music praise team and to our church family! Kara began leading our congregation and the Mount Olive Lutheran Church praise team late in 2018 and we look forward to her leading our singing into the future.

From Washington State, Eastern Washington since 2006

I am a native to the state of Washington and have lived on the East side of the mountains since graduating from the UW in 2006. God gave me a vocal gift at an early age, and I have spent many joyous years in choirs and worship bands through all stages of my life.  My greatest pleasures would include: vocal harmony, crafting poetry, enjoying the outdoors with friends (including my canine companion) and spending quiet times in solitude… preferably in front of a wood stove.”

Musical Carpenter

Most of my vocational experience thus far has been in the carpentry trade.  I began working with the carpenter’s union and later became a foreman for Habitat for Humanity here in Yakima.

Recently, however, God has encouraged me to pursue opportunities to serve in the area of my musical gifting.  He opened the door for me to join the Mt Olive team in October of 2018, which has launched a delightful season of learning from a new culture of worship and getting to collaborate and grow together as we seek the fullness of the love of Christ.

I desire to see the deep joy and abundance of God imparted to the hearts of His people through the medium of song.  I desire to create a safe and honest space of worship where the music encourages people to enter into the presence of a mighty and powerful God; where they can receive healing and impartation of His gifts; where they can hear the perfect, gentle and profound truths that He desires to speak to each of our hearts.

I am privileged to put my talents and energy into fulfilling that goal here at Mt Olive, and am excited to see the fruit from encounters with God that occur as we worship together.” . . .—Kara
