Having a heart like Jesus (first part)

          “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5

          “To be made new in the attitude of our minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:23-24

 “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in the knowledge in the image of its creator.” Colossians 3:9-10

We are also empowered to “put on”                                         as a Christian. 

“Because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.” Romans 6:7

We are empowered to rebuff sin,  a                                to let sin reign in one’s life. 

          “Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.” Romans 6:12

We are empowered to                                       ourselves to God.                                                          

“Offer yourselves to God, as those who have been bought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.”  Romans 6:13

Quote: “God loves us the way we are, but He refuses to leave us that way.  He wants us to be like Jesus.”

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases.”  Lamentation 3:22

The heart of Jesus is                                       

“A lamb, unblemished and spotless.” 1 Peter 1:19 

 “And in Him is no sin.” 1 John 3:5

Jesus’ heart is                                                 

Jesus’ heart is

His life could be summarized with one sentence:

“The son of man came to seek and save the lost.” Luke 19:10

The ultimate attribute of Christ was that His heart is                                      

“I am in the Father and the Father is in Me.”  John 14:11

“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me.”  He was “led by the Spirit.” Matthew 4:1

He was “full of the Holy Spirit.” Luke 4:1

He returned from the wilderness “in the power of the Spirit.” Luke 4:16

Jesus often took time “to be alone to pray.”  Luke 5:16 

We already                                   the heart of Christ. 

“Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20

“And we … are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”  2 Corinthians 3:18

“Strange as it seems, we Christians actually do have within us a portion of the very thoughts and mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 TLB

“He decided from the out set to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son.” Romans 8:29 MSG

“And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in the knowledge in the image of its Creator.”  Colossians 3:10

God is willing to change us into the likeness of His Son.  All He asked of us is to                               Him.
