Mount Olive Lutheran Church welcomes new pastor

The Rev. Kenneth L Williamson is the new pastor at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Williamson, born in Flint, Mich., in 1963, was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio, Mich. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Mich., and his Master’s of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. As part of his degree preparation, he served as vicar to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington, Wyo., in 1992-93.

After graduating from the seminary, he served at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Enterprise, Ala., then in 1996 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Flint. In 1998, he went to Calvary Lutheran Church in Carson City, Mich.

He and his wife, Sue, were married in 1999 and have a daughter, Kennedy, born in 2006.

On Sunday February 16, 2014 @ 5:00 P.M. we held the Installation Service for our new Pastor here at Mt. Olive,  Rev. Kenneth Williamson. Pastor Ken comes to us from Calvary Lutheran Church in Carson City, MI.  His wife Susan and daughter Kennedy will be joining us in June.  We feel very blessed to have the Williamson family with us here at Mt. Olive and we invite everyone to join us for worship and welcoming the Williamson’s to the Yakima Valley.
