Mount Olive Lutheran Church welcomes new pastor

The Rev. Kenneth L Williamson is the new pastor at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Williamson, born in Flint, Mich., in 1963, was a mem­ber of Mes­si­ah Luther­an Church in Clio, Mich. He obtained his under­grad­u­ate degree from Con­cor­dia Col­lege in Ann Arbor, Mich., and his Master’s of Divin­i­ty from Con­cor­dia Sem­i­nary in St. Louis. As part of his degree prepa­ra­tion, he served as vic­ar to Our Sav­ior Luther­an Church in Tor­ring­ton, Wyo., in 1992–93.

After grad­u­at­ing from the sem­i­nary, he served at Christ the King Luther­an Church in Enter­prise, Ala., then in 1996 at Christ the King Luther­an Church in Flint. In 1998, he went to Cal­vary Luther­an Church in Car­son City, Mich.

He and his wife, Sue, were mar­ried in 1999 and have a daugh­ter, Kennedy, born in 2006.

On Sun­day Feb­ru­ary 16, 2014 @ 5:00 P.M. we held the Instal­la­tion Ser­vice for our new Pas­tor here at Mt. Olive,  Rev. Ken­neth Williamson. Pas­tor Ken comes to us from Cal­vary Luther­an Church in Car­son City, MI.  His wife Susan and daugh­ter Kennedy will be join­ing us in June.  We feel very blessed to have the Williamson fam­i­ly with us here at Mt. Olive and we invite every­one to join us for wor­ship and wel­com­ing the Williamson’s to the Yaki­ma Val­ley.
